RYT-200
In my foundational yoga teacher training, we learned that yoga is “the journey of the self, through the self, to the self”. In my personal practice, I find this to be true time and time again. I believe yoga is the practice of being in relationship with our nervous systems so that we can shift from reactivity to intention. The yoga mat can act as a laboratory for this internal landscape, a place to look closely at the mental and physical “ruts” that keep us stuck so we can continually work to update our models of reality.
My teaching is rooted in self-study. In my classes, I share teachings from ancient yogic philosophy as well as current neurobiology to find multiple angles of the same universal truths. Everyone’s yoga practice is deeply personal, and my goal is to create a space where you feel safe to explore your own experience with curiosity and deep authenticity. Classes are always accessible to any level of experience.
I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (under the guidance of Daniel Max) and 35-hour Trauma-Informed Yoga Training (under the guidance of Alex Bauermeister) at JP Centre Yoga. I am currently undergoing my 300-hour advanced teacher training at Moving Galaxy (with Anna Argeropoulos). By day, I am a Psychiatry PA-C completing my fellowship year.
